This is an entirely personal reason, but here is a band from my Chinese church. We took a picture when we realized that the usually mixed gendered group had somehow scheduled an all male team. It's a lot of fun.
Some notable people: In the back left is Raymond, a Chinese man who does business in both America and China. He uses his business skill to plan the worship schedule for this small group of musicians. On the front right is Frank, who used to be a fitness instructor in Ghana. He's studying business in China to try and become bigger than he thought he could be. And in the back right, holding up a peace sign, is an American named Mitch who has no idea what he's doing and is one of the less talented musicians of the group. I'm lucky enough to be able to speak to people from these two vastly different cultures, learn about their music and histories, and be a part of the lives of these people who I never imagined I'd get to meet.
What's great, though, is that America is trendy right now. Hollywood movies are international hits. These people either want to go, or go there on occasion. Why not let a few more people in? If we can cheapen the cost of foreign tourist visas, interesting people like this will flock to our shores.
